*MGH Ignored repeated requests for dermatology consultation
My initial concern regarding the severe swelling of my face and neck after my rhinoplasty, was documented by Dr. Schneider in her notes 6 days post-op.

…and her notes on my 2nd post-op appointment:

(Note** Both pages of these notes were missing from 5 “complete” copies of medical records. I finally received them after filing a formal complaint with JCAHO. Apparently, they considered these notes too incriminating.. Read the notes and ask yourself WHY they so vehemently kept these notes OUT of my medical record.. )
At this point, I was still a trusting patient and offered myself as a study subject, believing a teaching hospital would be interested in investigating the cause of the obvious stretching and laxity caused by the extensive edema. I expressed my desire for a consultation with the Dermatology Dept. at MGH , and my belief that this may reveal important information about possible complications in the use of high pressure tumescent technique for facelifts, hopefully to prevent future patients from suffering similar consequences.
I made my first verbal request for a dermatology consult in March 1998, when I
met with the “group” of doctors at the Residents’ Clinic. I brought journal articles on tumescent technique as well as the paper in which use of the CUTOMETER is used to measure the mechanical properties of the skin. In showing these papers to the doctors, one of the senior surgeons gave them a cursory glance. Then, tossing them on the examining table where I sat, sucked his teeth with a “tsk”, and remarked in a derisive manner, “Oh, she’s been doing her homework”. And that was it.
In those days, I was too polite, respectful, and INTIMIDATED to repeat my request. My next request was ignored during my meeting with Dr. May in May, 1998. His monologue, which basically stated that my facelift would have looked the same whether I had had a rhinoplasty 8 weeks later or not; that my results were “better than average”, bulldozed over my request as if he had not heard.
My first written request was in my letter to Dr. May of 11-4-98 and again, in my letter to Dr. Mongan on 12-15-98.
Once again, I made the same request in a (recorded) conversation with Dr. Driscoll. He informed me that the order for this consult must come from Dr. Feldman. In April 1998 I asked Dr. Schneider if she could arrange this for me and she said she would check into it. She never did.
In my letter to Dr. Feldman of 2-23-99 I express my desire for a dermatology consult. There were other verbal requests.. these are only the instances I can recall. My requests to at least 4 different people at Mass General, all of whom had the authority make this simple arrangement, were purposefully IGNORED.
THIS IS THE WAY THEY DECEIVE, MANIPULATE AND INFLICT MENTAL ABUSE. They cannot deny having received my letters, as those mentioned above were included in papers served upon me in Dr. Feldman’s lawsuit. This is very odd, as I cannot imagine how they think these letters could possibly be used AGAINST me. In fact, most of what they consider “evidence” against me, serves more effectively as evidence proving their duplicity and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
